Wind Power

Below is our general process for installing small wind systems for home owners. We handle: site evaluation, incentive and financial modeling, engineering, permitting, project management, installation, and service.

  1. Give us a call and let us know you're interested in a wind power system. On the phone we'll ask you a few questions to learn where you're at in the process. While you're on the phone we'll gather your contact and other information.
  2. One of our renewable energy staff will research your location to see if it is a good candidate for a wind power system. If the data available suggest you have an average wind speed of at least 10 mph, we'll schedule a time to come look closer at your site.
  3. We charge for wind site assessments, call for details on price. We charge for site assessments because it's very time consuming to design and price out small wind systems. You'll get a wind site report that you can use with us or with another contractor.
  4. Based on the findings in your wind site assessment, and if wind will work at your site, we will design a system that will work at your site.
  5. If you decided to accept our proposal, the next step is to begin to file for permits, incentives and prepare for the install phase. The time it takes for installation, permitting, and final inspection varies from project to project.
